Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration.
Said Thomas Edison.
I just found Pixlr, you can call it an online Photoshop web application. This week my lady asked me to find her an online Photoshop web application, now I have this site for her. The owners of Pixlr didn’t know my lady, how can they know someday she will need this website? Yeah, inspired on Photoshop, and the idea that we can use “Photoshop” online, the owners of Pixlr made Pixlr. I believe that they thought the site would be useful.
Two years ago when I and my crew came to Vietnam Google Hackathon 2008, the speakers here, who from Google, introduced us many many ideas to make cool things. At the end of one presentation, a student ask the speaker “how to make money with the cool things they would make?”. The first thought of a student is money, how bad it can be? Instead of happy on many good lessons learned, instead of eager to start researching or developing the cool ideas have just came to mind after the speech, instead of feel thankful because some predictions have been proved, the student thought about money.
The point is how can we start to do something if we think about money as first? Worry about the budget and make a good financial plan is good, but don’t make it a barrier to stop the idea gets real. Just believe that our idea is useful for us, and for people, too, if we share. If we don’t, the ideas will never become an inspiration.
If we don’t event have our 1% of inspiration, stop talking about our 99% of perspiration.
