Thoughtful talks between Brian Solis and Chris Beck. “We’re moving from the area of relationships to the area of relations…”, Brian said. So we don’t have any conflict between the facts that we can have more than 5000 friends/follower and Dunbar number (you can’t maintain the relationships with more than ~ 150 people).
IMO, we’re moving to the age of ignore. Thefreedictionary tells me “ignore” has 2 meanings : “refuse to acknowledge” and “fail to notice”. In other words we can said : “I refused to acknowledge your status though we’re friends (on FB)” and “I’m being failed to update all your notification because of my overload”.
Beside it, why don’t we more than 1 layer of social graph? 150 people of colleagues, closest friends, 150 people living in the same area with me, 150 people are the fans of some brands I love … Why can’t we extend our Dunbar number this way, my 2 cents?
